The purpose of my upcoming book is to help people who are suffering from anxiety or depression and to help people who never want to suffer mental illness in the first place. My book is filled with personal stories and anecdotes from my life and others that show lifestyle decisions and habits that will make you healthier and happier.

This is an effort to remind us all of how to live our lives in a way that supports and creates health and happiness. By linking you to the Wake Up Laughing Podcast, this site also serves as a showcase for people doing good in the world, people shining light on good answers for mental health issues where all the side effects are also good for you. While it is true that psych meds are quite useful to some people, I do not think that they should be a first choice. We can improve our brain chemistry by changing our lives.

This website is also here to share the over 400 radio shows I have done over the last 11 years at KSKQ radio station in Ashland, Oregon. I have an archive of interviews with farmers, butchers, chefs, political campaigners, poets, philosophers, ranchers, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters.

This website is for building strong individuals, strong families, and strong tribes by improving our connection to place. This website is pro-pedestrian, pro-slowing down, and pro-knowing yourself and your surroundings. Since love is the answer, and in the end love always wins, and since love is all there is…… this website is about love. Healing and love. Wake Up Laughing!

The book title was inspired by a dream where a famous comedian was following me around as I showered him with one funny joke after another. Eventually I became aware of myself lying in bed laughing. As I lay in bed , having woke up laughing for the first time that I could remember in my life, I thought, “what if we woke up laughing every morning?”

Since laughter is the universal solvent, to wake up laughing is to wake up loose and problem free at play with the universe. I decided to spend more time laughing and helping others to laugh so we could all spend our days releasing stress and at play.

To wake up laughing every morning is a wonderful goal. I am still working on it.
